Finding geometric shapes

To go alongside my bird drawings I am also looking into contemporary architecture concentrating on looking at geometric shapes.
I have kept my style graphic like I have done with the birds to ensure that they can sit together.

Bird is the Word…

I have been busy drawing away this last week, really trying to concentrate on my style of drawing which is using a fine liner to do graphic style images.  I have have been concentrating mainly on birds as I need these to be top notch as I will not be doing much development to them! Hope you like….>

Tribal influence

Here is a selection of tribal drawings that I have used as a starting point for the ‘modern primitive’ trend.  I am hoping to extract sections of these images to use as pattern repeats.

Floral drawings

As florals is the main theme of my project I have decided to be brave and do some tonal drawings alongside some continuous line drawings as well.

Switching and changing

Even though I really like my motifs I felt the the centres were ‘bland’ compared to the rest of the design, so I have been busy with my craft knife and cutting out the centres- filling them with other patterns that are more interesting!

Here I have been very busy developing my motifs!
I am very happy with the outcomes and will be developing them with colour!!

I have been waiting to draw minerals because I knew if I drew them straight away I wouldn’t want to draw anything else!

I have also used my favourite technique continuous line.  I love the way the line flows and go over each other.  I am very pleased with the drawings above and can’t wait to develop them, later on!!
